Where disclosures appear
We do not rely on a footer-only disclosure. When a page contains affiliate links, a clear disclosure appears near the commercial content and before or close to the relevant links.
What counts as a commercial relationship
We disclose affiliate commissions, paid sponsorships, supplied products, discounts or other material benefits that could reasonably affect how a reader evaluates our independence.
What does not determine a ranking
Commission rate does not determine whether a product is included, excluded or ranked first. Feeling Adult may recommend a product for which no affiliate relationship exists, and may criticize or reject a product even when a commission is available.
Supplied products
If a manufacturer or retailer provides a product free of charge, that fact is disclosed. A supplied sample does not become a positive review by default. We also distinguish physical testing from specification-only review.
Why we do this
Both the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and Canada’s Competition Bureau treat material commercial connections as information consumers should be able to recognize clearly. Their guidance emphasizes prominent, understandable disclosure rather than ambiguous labels or hidden disclosures.
